A long history of growth

The Langen Packaging Group’s history dates back to 1956 when it was then known as H.J. Langen Packaging Inc. — a specialist in the manufacture and sales of processing machinery for the meat industry. The origins of the legendary B1-M™ Cartoner date back to this period. Langen Packaging Inc. quickly became known for robust and innovative machine design, and customers asked the company to expand its product offering to include cartoning machinery. The introduction of cartoning machinery was so successful that it quickly became our predominant product.

In 1988 in The Netherlands, two other members of the Langen family set up a cartoning company called Langenpac BV and decided to establish a joint venture with Langen Packaging Inc. A new factory was built in Wijchen for Langenpac, from which the European market would be locally served with machines based on European standards.

In 1996, Langen and Langenpac became member companies of Molins PLC, a global leader in packaging equipment. Although Langen Inc and Langenpac operated independently from one another, the cooperation became closer and closer and in 2008 Langen Inc and Langenpac decided to cement their cooperation by trading under one name; the Langen Packaging Group was born.

Over the past decade, the Langen Packaging Group has become an advanced solution provider developing standard equipment while specializing in custom projects. In the last 25 years we have installed over 3,000 machines and systems, including projects ranging in value from a hundred thousand dollars to those in excess of $10 million.

The Langen Packaging Group is a leader in the design and manufacture of cartoning equipment, case packers and accumulators and, most recently, expanding into complete system integration. We have great depth of experience in the development of a wide variety of customized product cartoners, case packers, and packaging systems, as well as offering expertise in more standardized products.

Today, in close co-operation with our world-wide customers, we continue a tradition that results in a reliable and robust machine build that uses the latest packaging technology and intelligent engineering to quickly and accurately place our customers’ product into cartons, trays or cases.

Together with its sister company, ITCM, the Langen Packaging Group is part of the international engineering group Molins PLC.

Molins is an international business, combining service and support with the design, engineering and manufacture of specialist machinery for the fast-moving consumer goods market, including tobacco, food and other high-volume products. Molins meets the technically complex expectations of customers by delivering innovative solutions on a global basis.
